I finished up my water bottle carrier today!
This project was another cute one from Craft Academy
They are starting up a Fall class soon and I am super excited to participate in these next classes! I highly recommend joining in!
While the carrier didn't turn out perfect, I am really proud of it!
I learned how to make a french seam!
I used a fun fabric for the lining.
With all the steps I had to use I got more comfortable with my sewing machine and now I am able to thread the bobbin with no problems!
So I actually measured the fabric for the water bottle with the blue lid on the left.
I guess I have to learn how to make better seam allowances! Oh well, at least this little bottle fits!
I'm looking forward to using this when I go to the park with the kids or even at ACL this year!
Yay! It looks wonderful :D I'm glad you're becoming more comfortable with sewing, too!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great!
ReplyDeleteHelpful hint -- wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of the bottle -- add 1/2 inch for ease and also add two times your seam allowance width. The extra for the ease helps when there's a lining added. Mom
ReplyDeletemom-- actually thats what I did! Funny how it still ended up too small! I'm trying it again, hopefully this weekend, so we'll see what happens!!
