I wish my camera/lighting in my house was better -- but what we have here is a knitting needle bag! It was super easy to make and very cheap as well! Got the pattern here.
I made small thin pockets for the thin needles and then bigger pockets for the circular needles and double pointed needles.
I'm going to have to fix some spots on it now that I know a little more of what I am doing. Like going back over the stitches so they don't come out when you barely pull on the pocket... or that ironing the fabric first could really help!
Pressing the fabric is one of the best parts!
ReplyDeleteIf you sew a couple of stitches and then back stitch a couple before you sew the whole row the stitches won't come out.
It looks so great!!! I love the fabric you chose. You are good at picking fabrics that go together well.
What was the problem with the sewing machine?
I didn't have the thread threaded correctly so it came off somewhere so it was going loosie goosie on me... those are the technical terms of course!

Sometimes if you don't have everything lined up right the thread will get stuck in there and you can't tell because it's inside the machine. I have been there and it's no fun at all. I'm glad you got it figured out. I have learned to always check the bobbin and rethread when that happens. Then it usually works great. Isn't it great to figure those things out?? It makes sewing so much less frustrating! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! Jon is the sewer in our family (I gave him a new sewing machine for his birthday this year :)). Maybe I can get him to make me one - I have quite a collection all bunched together in a bag! This looks fabulous and is very useful!
