FINALLY!

Last May I started the tedious process of making a Hexagon blanket for my daughter.

I am HAPPY to say I am FINALLY done!!!!!

I had no idea the amount of work required for a blanket like this but I am so proud of how it turned out.

I might have been able to get it done faster had I had worked on it only but I set it down for several months and just got the urge to finish it.

There are 95 hexagons and I finished it with a pink double crocheted border.  My border looks wavy and I liked the way that turned out.  

I had planned for it to be much bigger but it is still the perfect size for my little girl!

She obviously loves it too!!

Flower Headbands

I had seen this post on Itsy Bitsy Spider on making crocheted flowers and I instantly wanted to make some! They are so cute and easy to make!!! But would they look cute on?  Why, a hand band of course!!!

I made this one for my daughter.  

Its just a crocheted circle and I attached the flower on top.

I also made two more that I will eventually put in my etsy shop when I do open it... need to get working on that!  These just need a button added to make it easy to adjust and take on and off.

And I have also been hard at work on the hexagon blanket.  It might be smaller than I had planned... I have about 2 more rows to go. Trying to decide if I'll just make it this size or go for bigger... decisions decisions!!

Getting Lots Done

I wanted to post some picture of a few of the projects I'm working on. 

My friend asked me to make some legwarmers for her little girl and I was very excited to get started!

I made these very colorful ones

I also got started on these.

I LOVE cables!!

I found the inspiration from  neonsilika.

I used her pattern to give me some ideas and made some changes to make it my own.  I can't wait to finish the other leg on this pattern, but first need to make sure it fits right! Thank goodness my daughter's legs are about the same size.  Only thing with using my daughter as a tester is I have to always promise to make her some too...

I also have plans to make another pair with this fun yarn combo! 

Its going to be AWESOME!!!

I've also been S L O W L Y working more on my daughter's hexagon blanket.

I've got tons of the colored centers and I'm trying to piece them together.

I now have 5 rows done.

I'll keep you updated as I go!

More Progress!

I had been S L O W L Y making my way along with the crocheted hexagon blanket.

I finally realized that I could make quicker progress if I just made the circled centers first that I could get a lot done quickly!

In fact, I was able to make 9 in two work days (and get my work responsibilities done too!)

Before it would take me all day to get 2 or 3 done and add the hexagon pattern around the edge and attach it to the blanket.

I'm hoping now I can just bust out a plethora of these circles and then get to work on piecing them all together!!

What I worked on this weekend

I was inspired by MiniMak Makings a few months ago when I saw her hexagons.

Friday I bought my yarn and got to work.  I used this website for the instructions

I've made 12 so far.

Eventually this will be put together for a blanket for my daughter.
