Valentine's Day Cards

I decided this year that I wanted to have hand made cards for the kids for their Valentine's Cards.  The kids loved the idea so I had to get started right away, especially since I needed 42 of them made!!!

I started with some crocheted hearts.  Here is a sample of some the ones we are going to use.

We've got some sparkly ones, tied dyed ones, pink, hot pink and purple to name a few!

We made our cards on card stock, cut them out and attached the heart on one side.

And here is the other side where the kids will write in the names!

I think they are pretty cute!  

I even included a set of them in my etsy shop if you want to get your own! If you need different colors or more than are in the listing, just let me know! I was able to make these pretty fast!

Work's Art City

In my office we have this area that we have been using to display artwork by artist in the office. It has been pretty cool to see all the awesome talent that we have here!

They have renamed the area to "Art City" and have incorporated a group theme to the area.  Every other month there is some kind of display that is put up that everyone can contribute to.  The first one was just a sheet of paper that we could all draw what we had for lunch.  I wish I had taken pictures because there was some awesome Zombies that were added in! hee hee brains for lunch!!!

This month they have 2 quilts displayed with a group "quilt" that we can all add to!  They have these different colored squares of construction paper and markers that we can use.  My friend might be one of the biggest contributor and constantly uses pictures from magazines to make her quilt squares.  

In fact she made a Team Edward square and then someone else had to make a Team Jacob to follow up =)

Today I decided to add my own by using some of my scrap yarn. 

I love working in a place that encourages creativity!!

What to do when you run out of wrapping paper

I was faced with the dilemma the other day of not having any wrapping paper for the purse I had made for my sister-in-law.  I had found some Christmas paper and had thought of just turning it to the "wrong" side and doing something creative that way.  But then I remembered that my daughter LOVES tape and had used all the tape that I owned... even the duct tape!!

But I had tissue paper and this old shoe box... So I took the purple tissue paper and just glued it to the box.  I used 2 layers so you wouldn't be able to see the box design.  I then found these old cut out letters I had that were also purple and spelled her name on the top.  I think it came out pretty cute!
